  • 1985-1990: Wissenschaftliche Hilfskraft am Zoologischen Institut der Universität Heidelberg. Mitarbeit bei elektronenmikroskopischen Untersuchungen verschiedener Gewebe von invertebraten Tieren und Fischen.
  • Jun. - Nov. 1986: Staatsexamensarbeit am Zoologischen Institut I der Universität Heidelberg mit dem Thema: "Pomatias elegans: Zur Ernährungsbiologie einer prosobranchen Landschnecke" (Betreuung Dr. H.H. Janssen, Prof. Dr. V. Storch). Transmissions- und rasterelektronenmikroskopische sowie histolochemische Untersuchungen des Verdauungstraktes von P. elegans.
  • Nov.-Dez. 1986: Vom DAAD geförderter Forschungsaufenthalt an der San Carlos-Universität in Cebu, Philippinen. Aufgaben: Mitbetreuung eines studentischen Kurses, Untersuchungen zur Radulastruktur verschiedener tropischer Meeresschnecken, Entnahme von Probenmaterial für elektronenmikroskopische Untersuchungen zum Lebenszyklus eines Vertreters der Sporozoa, Aufstellung einer Liste zu eßbaren Mollusken auf den Philippinen.
  • Jan. 1987- Mai 1990: Doktorarbeit am Zoologischen Institut der Universität Heidelberg über das Thema: "Die Wirkung von Molluskiziden auf den Verdauungstrakt einheimischer Schadschnecken" (Betreuung Prof. Dr. V. Storch). Transmissions- und rasterelektronenmikroskopische sowie histologische, histochemische, immunhistochemische und autoradiographische Untersuchungen am Verdauungstrakt zweier Schneckenarten nach Verabreichung verschiedener molluskizider oder potentiell molluskizider Wirkstoffe.

  • 1987 - 1990: Wissenschaftliche Hilfskraft am Institut für Ultrastrukturforschung der Universitäts-Hautklinik Heidelberg. Mitarbeit bei der elektronenmikroskopischen Diagnostik von Genodermatosen und Auswertung von Proben- material zur pränatalen Diagnostik derselben.
  • Juli-Aug. 1988: Forschungsaufenthalt am Zoologischen Institut der Universität Innsbruck (Prof. Dr. W. Wieser). Messungen von Stoffwechsel- und Biotransformationsenzymen bei Schnecken.
  • Juni 1990 - Mai 1992: Zweijähriges Forschungsprojekt bei den LONZA-Werken Weil, Basel, Visp mit Anstellung als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin bei den LONZA-Werken Weil und Arbeitsplatz am Zoologischen Institut I der Universität Heidelberg und bei den LONZA-Werken, Visp. Arbeitsgebiet: "Wirkmechanismen von Metaldehyd bei Schnecken". Untersuchungen zur Effektivität verschiedener Formulierungen und Konzentrationen des Molluskizides Metaldehyd mit Hilfe mikroskopischer, mikroskopisch-analytischer und chemisch-analytischer Techniken.
  • Juni 1992 - Juli 1994: Wissenschaftliche Angestellte am Zoologischen Institut der Universität Hohenheim.(1) Elektronenmikroskopische Studien und quantitative Verhaltensuntersuchungen zur Darstellung neurotoxischer Wirkungen von Organozinnverbindungen (TBTO, TPTA) und Lindan bei Forellen.(2)Anwendung filterelektronenmikroskopischer Techniken (ESI, EELS) zum Nachweis von (a) Zinn, Zink, Platin und Kupfer in verschiedenen Organen von metallexponierten Wirbellosen, Fischen und Mäusen sowie (b) Eisen in Blutzellen von Priapulida.(3) Mitarbeit an dem Forschungsprojekt: "Etablierung und Anwendung eines kombinierten Testsystems zur Beurteilung der Toxizität umweltrelevanter Schadstoffe in Böden". (Elektronenmikroskopische Diagnostik an der Mitteldarmdrüse von Schnecken)(4) Untersuchungen zum Einfluß der Schwerelosigkeit auf die Ultrastruktur der Leber von Buntbarschlarven (Probenmaterial der D2-Mission).(5) Mitarbeit bei der immunhistochemischen Lokalisierung von Gangliosiden im Gehirn von Fischen.(6) Mitarbeit am Forschungsprojekt "Vergleichende Untersuchungen zur Sukzession von Steinbrüchen unter besonderer Berücksichtigung des Naturschutzes" (Antragstellung, Probennahmen und Determination von Gastropoden).
  • Oktober 1994: Forschungsaufenthalt am Institut für Ökologie der Universität Lund, Schweden. Proteinchemische Arbeiten zum Nachweis Metall-bindender Proteine bei Collembolen nach Laborexposition gegenüber verschiedenen Schwermetallgemischen.
